Radish chips + vegan and vegetarian sandwiches

Hi healthy eaters!
Spring is so beautiful, isn't it? Besides buds on the trees or blossoming flowers, there is also another place where spring is especially beautiful. In the kitchen! A lot of green veggies, seasonal fruits, rhuarb! There is so many of this deliciousness everywhere, so we have to use the opportunity (which sadly does not last long) to cook healthy with all this goodness that spring gives us. So today, we have for you a small proposition how to use radishes which maybe are a bit old and are not good enough to eat them raw. Little, wholesome sandwiches in two versions: vegan and vegetarian with radish chips. Healthy, quick snack/breakfast/supper/lunch.

Rhubarb-apple dessert

Hi healthy eaters!
We haven't told you it yet, but we're huge fans of rhubarb. So we decided to make up some recipes with this specific product and make something magical in various of ways. What we decided to do was jelly dessert containing rhubarb and apple in one. Jelly desserts are well-known in our country, because Poles can serve it with anything they wish, as long as it's tasty. Admittedly, apples are so-called ‘polish fruit’ as Poles eat them in great amounts. Nonetheless, rhubarb is not so common and widespread, that is why we would like to say a few words about nutrition of this veggie. Basically, it’s one of the least calorie vegetables, as it contains 21 calories/100 grams. It’s rich in vitamin A, vitamins B of every kind and additionally vitamin K, which plays a potential role in bone health by promoting ‘osteotrophic activity ( bone formation and strengthening)’. If you have never tried this veggie, you should do so with any shadow of doubt.

Mexican tortilla

Hi health eaters!
As you may already know, we’re fascinated with travels, cultures and native people from all around the world. It’s often shown in our meals and the way they’re prepared or made. Well, recently we watched polish version of ‘Come dine with me’ and there was a girl who claimed that she cooked three Mexican dishes, although she has never been there before. And one of the participants said something that made us think about his words for a longer while. He said that you cannot prepare any meal from other countries as long as you are not there. Admittedly, we don’t agree with this statement, because we believe in the joy of cooking. And for us, it actually doesn’t matter if you’re Italian and cook Polish meals or if you’re Brazilian and cook Irish dishes. It’s all about having fun in the kitchen and making something tasty and healthy. Well, we also wanted to experiment in the kitchen, so that’s what we made, a Mexican Tortilla. Check the recipe and let us know what you think. Enjoy!

Secret Project

Hi healthy eaters!
So by the title of this post you might be wondering right now what this secret project actually is. Well, it’s  a Polish-German project created by people studying international journalism, here in Lodz and their co-partners from Germany and it's called 'TANDEM'. It must be said that Germans came to visit Poland first for a whole week and then polish students flew to Germany for the same amount of time. Both groups were asked to prepare a presentation based on whatever  they would like, nonetheless, it had to include the country they were in. So there was a really nice and kind girl from Germany, who decided to make a presentation about food and habits of eating of Poles. And basically, that is why we took part in it, because they’d found our blog and asked us to collaborate with them. Frankly, it was such an awesome experience! We had an opportunity to meet new people and share our ideas and standpoints. Obviously, we didn’t forget to make something really tasty and pretty quick, taking into account preparation time then.  Below, we can see what we’ve prepared!

Breakfast barley.

Hi healthy eaters!
Finally a warmer month came to visit us on this side of the Globe. Hopefully, it will shine for a really long time! While the weather is so good to us, we should not waste any minute, just grab a bag and go for a walk, discover places we’ve never been to, explore spots we’ve never heard of. Be adventurous! To do all of that you have to have energy in order to do all things you simply want to. So you know…  first let me eat breakfast! Today we prepared barely, which is a little bit sweeter than our usual breakfast meal, nonetheless, it’s that kind of good ‘sugar’. All the ingredients have a lot of essential nutrients (more about it in the brand new section called ‘nutrients’). It’s extremely important to feed your body with all ‘these valuable stuff’. So basically, our proposition is to have a little bit of fun in the kitchen and if you like sweeter meals, then definitely this one is for you. So remember, before you decide to  move your body anywhere outside, have a meal! After you body receive all the nutrients, it will certainly function heaps better. We highly recommend breakfast barely for you to try out on your own and don’t forget to let us know if it’s in your taste!
